Here is an ESL idea to practice the Past Perfect.
After introducing the rules to Past perfect, put 6-8 different pictures around the classroom that tell a story.
Get your students into pairs and tell them that they are going to think about what happened before that photo was taken. e.g He had found out that he had an affair.

Here is a fun ESL idea to help students enjoy reading and listening.
Choose an interesting text that is easy to mime. Ask your class for two volunteers (should be strong students!) and tell them to go to the front of the class.
The teacher reads the text and the students mime to the class. This is not only fun but it helps the weaker students understand much better!

Here is an ESL warmer.
At the beginning of the lesson write a list of questions related to the things that will come up in that lesson.
Bring in a selection of boxes and ask each group to choose one. Still in their groups, ask your students to choose six of the questions on the board and write them on individual bits of paper and glue one on each side of the box.

Here is an ESL idea to help with discipline problems and teamwork in the classroom.
I usually do this on the first day of class. After you have done some getting to know you games give all your students a piece of paper and tell them to write their names.

Here is an ESL activity that practises reading, writing and speaking.
Choose an appropriate text for your class. After they have read the text, tell your students they are going to test their colleagues!
In groups, they have to write and ask 5 questions about the text. (The answers can be either open book or closed!)
You can award points for good questions and correct answers.

Here is an ESL revision or ice breaker idea.
This activity can be used to introduce new vocabulary at the beginning of the year or revision at the end.
Before the lesson write out a number of words or expressions on little pieces of paper and hide them around your classroom. Then, divide your students into groups. You need 1-2 hunters, 1 stamper and 1 postie.
